Open Exploration is proud to announce the winners of the 2024 Highly Cited Paper Award, a prestigious recognition established to honor outstanding research that has made a significant contribution to the advancement of scientific knowledge. Launched in 2020, the Highly Cited Paper Award highlights exceptional papers that demonstrate notable academic impact and scholarly value, while encouraging global contributions to the scientific community.
As of the end of 2023, Open Exploration has recognized 27 high-impact papers, significantly enhancing the journal's citation count and contributing to its growing international academic influence. (A complete list of the winning articles is provided at the end of this release.)
In 2024, the Open Exploration editorial team, in collaboration with citation data from the Web of Science (WOS) and the professional evaluation from all editors-in-chief, carefully selected the award-winning papers based on their scholarly merit and contributions to their respective fields. To acknowledge their exceptional work, Open Exploration will present the following awards to the authors and guest editors of the winning papers:
●Author Team: A monetary reward of 300-1000 USD; a Highly Cited Paper Award certificate; and a one-time 100% APC waiver.
●Corresponding Guest Editor: A monetary reward of 100-300 USD.
This year's award-winning papers feature research in cutting-edge areas such as 3D printing, liquid biopsy, glioblastoma, antimicrobial resistance, and nanomedicine. The papers come from four Open Exploration journals, including Exploration of Medicine, Exploration of Targeted Anti-tumor Therapy, Exploration of Drug Science, and Exploration of BioMat-X.
The authors include globally distinguished researchers such as Professor Fortunato Ciardiello (University of Campania, H-index of 102) and Professor Paolo Zamboni (University of Ferrara, H-index of 49), etc. Some of these articles have attracted tens of thousands of views and represent significant advancements in their respective fields.
